How to Buy and Sell Used Cars for Fun and Profit
Section 5 Profits on Every Car
If you don't buy at the right price you won't be able to make a profit. In other words you make your profit when you buy.
You have to get a real good deal in order to resell fast and be able to give your a buyer a good deal as well. So it is very important that you get the best possible price.
We don't want to be in the position of trying to get top dollar just to make a profit. That takes too long. I don't want to show my car to a hundred people to make a sale.
We do not want to buy project cars to rebuild and resell. That is too much work and takes too much time.
We are looking for cars people don't need or want anymore. Cars that we can clean up and resell. We are looking for cars with good curb appeal.
The best deals you will find is when a seller just wants to sell his old car, so he can by something new that he has fallen in love with. He is in a hurry for no good reason. He doesn't really need a new car and he is not looking to make a bundle off his old car.
If you can't get the price you need be ready to walk. But always be polite. Make sure you thank the seller for his time and give him your number in case he changes his mind.
There is no reason to make anybody mad or hurt anyone’s feeling. Just let him know that you can’t afford to pay that much. Which of course is the truth.
You can't pay that much, because you need to make a profit when you resell it.
So it’s vital that you know you cars value before you make any offers. Do your homework.
